Ice-Watch, New Partner of the Marc VDS Racing Team
Ice-watch, the Belgian trendy watch brand that enjoys international
fame and success, will be the new partner of the Marc VDS Racing Team,
the Belgian racing team that has quite a diverse program this season.
The logo of Ice-watch will be seen all over the world on the two Ford GTís that will participate in the GT1 world championship. The same goes for the two bikes that will start in the 17 Grand Prix of the Moto2 World Championship. The colours of Ice-Watch will also be defended by the two Mustangs GT3 during the six races of their European Championship and the Spa 24 Hours, and also by the Buggy VW Tareg that ñ freshly returned from the Dakar Rally ñ will compete in the rally raids of Tunisia and Russia. Prestigious participations in the Le Mans 24 Hours and 1000 km of Spa complete this program, obviously with the support of Ice-Watch as well
Count Marc van der Straten, owner of the racing team, is delighted by the cooperation: ìThe success story of Ice-Watch is really incredibleî, he states. ìWe are very proud that all over the planet we can introduce the world of motorsports ñ which already has a fine taste in luxurious watches ñ to a new, quirky and creative brand, that sells its products at affordable prices. And itís Belgian as well!
Jean-Pierre Lutgen, CEO of Ice-Watch, explains: ìMy knowledge of motor racing is rather limited, Iím afraid, but this opportunity was to good to miss. The Marc VDS Racing Team visits 27 countries, participates in 123 races en will defend our colours during no less than 42 race weekends. That is incredible! To work with a Belgian team, which works in a serious manner without taking themselves too seriously, completely suits our philosophy. Our retailers and importers will follow everything very closely, I am sure.
Therefore there can be no doubt that Ice-Watch and the Marc VDS Racing Team will defend the Belgian colours all over the world. That is already the case this week in Barcelona, with the winter testing for the Moto2 World Championship, and next weekend at the Paul Ricard circuit in France, where the Ford GT will take on the opposition in the official testing for the FIA GT1 World Championship.
